STATUS: OPENOn 08/20/2022, JPD received a report of a burglary and theft from a residence in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway. The complainant reported the burglary occurred sometimes since July 30th, 2022, which was the last time they had been at the property. The following items were reported stolen;

Theft of Packages
August 14, 2022
STATUS: OPENOn 08/14/2022, the Juneau Police Department received a report of several opened and empty UPS packages, being found behind the FAA Flight Center building off of Cessna Drive. The packages are believed to have been stolen from the UPS drop off box located on Renshaw Way. The combined value of the stolen packages is estimated to be under $500. The owners of the packagers were notified of the theft.

On 12/22/2021, the Juneau Police Department received a report from a bank regarding a of a fraudulent $100 bill being found in a business deposit for a hotel in the 8900 block of Glacier Highway.

Burglary
December 06, 2021
On 12/06/2022, at about 1:03 am, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a burglary at a storage conex located in the 1000 block of 3rd Street. The conex was forcibly entered and several bottles of alcohol were stolen, valued between $200-$500.

Burglary
December 01, 2021
On 12/01/2021, at about 8:06 pm, the Juneau Police Department received a burglary report at a residence in the 9000 block of North Douglas Highway. The complainant reported the following items were stolen, an x-box, router box, a jar of change valued at $500, 8 boxes of 9mm home defense ammunition, two cans of 9mm target ammunition and two .22 caliber bolt action rifles.

STATUS: OPENOn 11/12/2021, at approximately 7:47 a.m., JPD received a report of a white 2014 Ford van stolen from the driveway of a residence, located in the 9000 block of North Douglas Highway. At about 8:45 a.m. that same morning, the stolen vehicle was located at the end of North Douglas Highway, crashed in a guardrail. The complainant reported the vehicle was last seen the night before around 10 p.m. and the keys had been left inside the vehicle.
It is estimated that the vehicle sustained totaling damages as a result of the crash.
Robbery
October 01, 2021
STATUS: OPENOn 10/01/2021, at 9:47 PM, an employee at a business located in the 9100 block of Mendenhall Mall Road, called JPD to report a robbery. The employee, who was also the victim, reported a male ran up to her while she was locking her business door and said "Give me the money, give me the bag" and threatened to shoot them if they didn't. The employee didn't see the man with any weapons. The employee told the man there was no money in the tote bag she was carrying, but she gave the man the tote bag anyway and he ran from the area. The suspect was described as a male, wearing a black hoody, dark cloths, white colored mask and carrying a green "World Of Banks" tote bag. The suspect is believed to be approximately 5' tall, with a thin build.
On the night of the robbery, it was very stormy with heavy rain and wind. The power was knocked out, so it was very dark out with low visibility.

Motor Vehicle Theft

STATUS: OPENOn 09/24/21, a 61-year-old male reported his tan 2005 Chevrolet Silverado was stolen from the parking lot of a business, located in the 11800 block of Glacier Highway. The caller reported he last saw the vehicle on 09/11/21. On 09/24/21, the vehicle was located unoccupied on Haffner Court.

Stolen Vehicle

STATUS: OPENOn 09/17/2021, a 24-year-old male reported his white 1996 Chevrolet pickup was stolen on 09/16/2021, from the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 9000 block of James Blvd. It was reported the vehicle was located on 09/17/2021, in a parking lot a few blocks away. The vehicle owner reported the steering column and ignition system was damaged by the person who stole the vehicle.

STATUS: OPENOn 08/16/2021, JPD received a report of a burglary at a residence in the 2200 block of Fritz Cove Road. The homeowner reported that sometime in the past month, the following items were stolen;
- 17 maple leafs and Krugerrands (gold coins) – valued at $1,770- each
- 3 silver bars, valued at approximately $1,770
- Coin collection – valued at $5,000
- $15,000 in cash
- Miscellaneous jewelry items, such as bracelets, a men’s ring and a loose diamond – valued at about $4,000
- Mandolin – valued at $800
- Ovation guitar – valued at $400

On 06/15/2021, a resident in the 11000 block of Glacier Highway reported being woken up in the middle of the night by what sounded like a large firework going off. The resident did not think to much about it at the time, due to the 4th of July being in the near future. In the morning, the resident found that their mailbox had been destroyed. Pieces of the mailbox could be found up to 150 feet in all directions. It is unknown if the mailbox was destroyed by a firework, explosive, or by other means. The mailbox is valued at about $50.

STATUS: OPENOn 06/01/2021, Glacier Gardens, located on James Blvd, was entered in the middle of the night and several flower baskets, plants and various products were destroyed. The damages are estimated at about $4,000.
